Health Care Help Center

Supporting you on your health care path

York Hospital’s Health Care Help Center is an easily accessible service where new and established patients (and even community members) can find answers to questions about their health care path. Our experts will be happy to provide caring support and guidance in a comfortable, confidential environment.

The Health Care Help Center is located in the lower level of the Henry Warner Building, 16 Hospital Drive on the York campus. Visits are by appointment only, so call (207) 351-2345 to set up a time to meet with our team.

Care access

Our Care Access Nurse is here to guide you through the healthcare system and improve your access to care services. That includes explaining the different services York Hospital offers, helping you find primary care and specialty providers, providing clinical guidance, and answering your questions about follow-up care. If you’re here seasonally or on vacation, we can also explain your care options, and if you’re unable to reach your provider’s office about a particular concern, we can help.

Community social services

There are many programs, services, and resources offered by the hospital and community that can help improve your quality of life — and our licensed social worker is happy to connect you to them! This can include:

  • Guidance on how to locate in-home help
  • Information about what to do when an elderly parent is having difficulty living independently
  • Resources about alternative housing options for those who are no longer able to live on their own
  • Assistance obtaining a wheelchair, walker, or other equipment
  • Information about community resources, such as Meals on Wheels, food pantries, elderly legal assistance, and fuel assistance

Prescription assistance

Our Prescription Assistance Navigator is ready to ease your mind about the added costs of prescription medications. Our Prescription Assistance Program offers patients information and help lowering prescription drug costs. We can educate you about pharmaceutical company assistance programs, state and federal programs (including Medicare Part D), and lost-cost generic drug programs.

Insurance access

We understand the insurance marketplace can be challenging to navigate. But our team is here to help — educating about federal and state insurance plan options and assisting with online enrollment. If you want help navigating insurance, reach out to us at: getcovered@1368368.com.

Please note, while we can assist Maine residents with Marketplace, Medicare, and Medicaid, we’re only able to assist New Hampshire residents with Medicaid. If you live in New Hampshire and are seeking Marketplace or Medicare coverage (or someone local to assist you), visit healthcare.gov and medicare.gov.
